A Collection with a Cause

Golden Ribbon

At TARIKUTI, we believe fashion can be more than just beautiful or comfortable — it can be a force for good. To turn this belief into action, in 2023 we launched two product lines with a strong social mission. Through our Golden Ribbon collection, we donate 10% of all sales to the Association of Children with Oncohematological Diseases, the organization behind the first rehabilitation center on the Balkans dedicated to children and youth who have survived cancer.

In Bulgaria, each year between 150 and 200 children, aged 0 to 18, are diagnosed with cancer. The disease strikes suddenly. Treatment is intense and may last anywhere from 6 months to 3 years, sometimes even longer — in some cases, for life.

The Story Behind the Golden Ribbon Collection

Golden Ribbon is one of our two socially responsible lines. For every item sold, we donate 10% to the Association of Children with Oncohematologic Diseases to help maintain their St. Stilian Rehabilitation Center — a unique space created for healing and hope. The Association was founded in 2010 by parents of children battling cancer and blood disorders. For over 13 years, it has been a pillar of support for families navigating the most difficult of journeys. After 10 years of relentless dedication, on September 14, 2020, the Association opened the first rehabilitation center for child cancer survivors in the Balkans, and only the eighth of its kind in the world. Located near Sofia, between the villages of Opitsvet and Bezden, the center offers completely free stays and therapeutic programs, helping children and their families reconnect with life beyond hospitals.

What Children and Families Face During and After Cancer Treatment
(According to the Association of Children with Oncohematologic Diseases)

In Bulgaria, each year 150–200 children aged 0–18 are diagnosed with cancer. The illness often appears without warning, and the treatment is long, painful, and mentally exhausting. It includes high doses of toxic medication, aggressive radiotherapy, and invasive surgeries — sometimes resulting in the removal of organs or limbs, or leaving permanent damage. In certain cases, bone marrow transplants are necessary, which carry serious risks and side effects. Children undergoing these treatments experience constant pain and discomfort, often beyond the limits of what any human should endure. Their appearance can change drastically. They may lose close friends undergoing similar treatment. Thoughts of death and the burden of the diagnosis are frequent and heavy companions.

With their immune systems severely compromised, even the smallest viral infection can be fatal. As a result, these children must live in isolation — no school, no sports, no activities, no friends. They are robbed not only of their health, but of normal social development, education, and a sense of belonging. From the very beginning, the Association of Children with Oncohematologic Diseases has supported these children and their families. It organizes annual summer camps, operates a daycare center at ISUL Hospital, and now — through the St. Stilian Center — provides free therapeutic services year-round. To continue offering these critical, free-of-charge services, the center needs ongoing funding. That’s why we created the Golden Ribbon line — so that your choice of clothing can also be a choice to make a difference. When you wear a piece from this collection, you’re not just dressing — you’re investing in the future of a child who is fighting or has fought cancer.
