Woman’s Power

Inspired by the personal story of our brand manager and designer Maya, the Woman’s Power line started with a vision based on typography, because its creator believes that power is in the words. The same year 2023, in Bulgaria, a girl is cut alive over 18 times by her ex-boyfriend. This sadism brings together many women, former victims of domestic violence, who tell their stories to show the depth of the problem in our country. Not a small part of them are covered by a young, investigative journalist named Tatyana Yordanova.

The new face of Woman’s Power.

For 7 happy years, Tatyana has been a journalist and has covered unhappy “love” dozens of times. Love that ended in violence. With murder. With almost murder. She knows well what a scar in the eye looks like. This is the scariest scar – of fear in the gaze. Women who have escaped the blows have survived and found the feminine strength to tell. To protect the next one.

Part of the team of “Hello, Bulgaria” on Nova Television, with its own column “High Voltage”. It often features stories about domestic violence and gaps at the institutional level.

Of all the stories she has told over the years, the most blatant is that of Rosa – the woman who was left without an ovary after 3 hours of torture. She miraculously survived, but found the strength to speak out to point out the problems in the system. Those holes that made the attacks against her possible. That’s why Tatyana tells these stories. Because they make sense not from the drama, not from the pain. But from the power that can change.

That’s why we chose her as the new face of the “Woman’s Power” line. Because we believe in the power of words. And what could be better than having them dressed in elegant clothes that help. For their owners to feel more beautiful, and for the victims more protected. Ten percent of the sale of each model, part of “Woman’s Power”, goes to support the Animus Association Foundation and their over 25-year battle for a better life for women and children who have become victims of violence.

About domestic violence and the Animus Association Foundation

Domestic violence is the most widespread, but also the most hidden form of violence. In addition to physical assault by a person with whom the victim is in a family relationship or in a de facto marital cohabitation, domestic violence is also considered any act of sexual, psychological, emotional or economic violence, as well as the attempt to commit such an act. The forced restriction of privacy, personal freedom and personal rights is also a form of domestic violence. When there are children, any domestic violence committed in the presence of the child, in front of them, is also considered psychological and emotional violence against them – even if the child himself is not the direct object of the abuse.

For more than 25 years, the Animus Association Foundation has been helping victims of domestic violence and gender-based violence. Founded in 1994 by female professionals in the helping professions – psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, in 2001 it acquired the status of a public benefit organization. One of the many ways in which it helps is through the National Hotline. By calling 0800 1 86 76 and/or 02 981 76 86, victims of domestic violence can receive free consultations.

WOMEN’S Power

Callers can receive help and support for specific cases, as well as be referred to social services in the country. Every Wednesday, from 17:30 to 21:00, the line provides free legal support. Victims of violence can send letters to the email address 029817686@animusassociation.org, sharing their situation. This is a 24-hour service managed by the Animus Association Foundation, with the financial support of the Ministry of Justice.
